Bored Ape Yacht Club’s annual ApeFest – a 4-day, immersive music festival – for community members only. I was the lead Graphic Designer of the project,, which took place at and around Pier 17, in New York City.
“Makeout’s work at ApeFest stretched across three enormous areas. Up front at Arrivals, highlights included a 65-foot-long inflatable ape, as well as 65-foot-high sails flown on a historic ship docked next to the pier. Inside Pier 17, we took over a 35,000 square-foot raw space and built out an immersive retail experience that begins in the gritty NYC streets and opens into a museum-like streetwear presentation. And then on the rooftop itself, we transformed the venue’s Corporate VIP Bar into a 1970s dive, and spread the BAYC vibe across every surface and structure available to us.”
I worked closely with my team, the BAYC team and print vendors to create all of the design collateral and print files needed for the event. Most notably the massive wall of ape heads outside of the retail space, and the wayfinding signage throughout the venue. Those proved to be logistically challenging, to an already tight turnaround project. The install days were a 35-hour blur. In the end the event way a major success and the fans left happy with armfuls of merch and a memorable concert experience.

adidas Originals enlisted our help to convert a New York brownstone into an all encompassing brand experience. We transformed eight rooms into eight mini brand experiences, highlighting products to be released in the upcoming year.
I was the lead Graphic Designer of the project. This one had a lot of moving parts, as each room needed to encapsulate a different vibe. I spent most of my time helping art direct these rooms and create all of the graphics needed. This included the simple, yet effective map system and wayfinding that would be used on the tour.
At the end of the project, scrapbooks of each room were created as a final documentation and takeaway of the event.

Part of Dr. Martens “Worn Different” campaign. Organized seven artist and three bands into one multimedia show at Elsewhere in Brooklyn. With the help of my creative director, we planned the event space, plotted out artist showcase areas, created and built all visual elements for the stage and implemented social media campaign rollout.
This was the first event of its kind at Elsewhere, so there was a lot of spacial planning that was involved to fit the photo booth and artist showcases, all with their own set of unique needs. My favorite takeaway from this event was working with musicians and artists and being part of the team that created the massive stage setup.

“After every great party night, there’s a next-day struggle. And for those moments when a whole city becomes a party at once, Makeout helped Pizza Hut create the ultimate answer for a mass struggle. New Orleans, host of March Madness: Meet The Struggle Bus.”
I had Senior Designer & Art Director contributions to this project. The tallest order was helping design the graphics wrap for a massive tour bus. The rest was just fun hits of branding on curtains, pillows, eye masks and merch.

We traveled to Miami, Houston & Detroit to help Ebay create three distinct “Hard To Find Gift Shops”. Each shop had a different specialty; bags & watches, trading cards & comic books and sneakers.
I was the lead designer on this project and worked closely with my Creative Director, and a unique build team in each city to make it all happen. I traveled to each city and helped each event come to life. These days involved a lot of quick decision making and a keen eye for detailed art direction.

We teamed up with Stance & Rihanna’s own Fenty line to pull off a one-of-a-kind in-store experience.
Using thread as a literal pathway throughout the store, our team designed a narrative to tie in Rihanna’s charity, The Clara Lionel Foundation, to store displays. Half of the proceeds went to the foundation, and you may have been one of the lucky ones to have Rihanna as your cashier.
Other notable additions were a thread photo installation that comprised of hundreds of hanging colored threads, and a unique art piece by textile artist Victoria Villasana.
